My name is Adam Vanney, and I am one of the founders of SwiftDates. I also work as a mechanical engineer for a nuclear design firm in the loop.
I first fell in love with Chicago when I moved here as a student five years ago. Now that I am a working professional, it’s as if I have had to rediscover the city. From strolling home after a day at the office, to playing tennis in Grant Park, or checking out a new exhibit at the Art Institute, I have come to cherish the relaxed atmosphere Chicago has created in the midst of an otherwise overwhelming urban environment.
Yet, regardless of how wonderful Chicago can be, I quickly found that meeting new people after college is no simple task.
I started SwiftDates because of a simple feeling: regardless of all the stress, rush, and hassle of the urban dating scene, it should be possible to take a few minutes to sit down, let loose, and just say hello to a new friend. Well, it’s not just a feeling anymore. It’s a reality, and I hope to share it with you. You can learn more about why I started SwiftDates by reading my blog post: Why I Can’t Wait For Our Next Event.
Please join me at an upcoming speed dating event -I’ll be hosting.
